Why ‘Evergreen’?

A New Chapter

This year, 2025, I made the decision to rebrand and separate my work into two distinct platforms - one for my art, magic, and performance, and another for hypnotherapy, personal development, and wellness. I knew I wanted this new identity to reflect something bigger than just me. It’s not about "David Stewart Hypnotherapy" - it’s about life itself, about living well, living free, and understanding the forces that shape our experience. So, I went on a search. Names came and went - some were okay, some felt off - but nothing truly clicked.

Until…

I asked ChatGPT to throw some words at me related to nature, psychology, science, and space. One of those words was Evergreen—and instantly, a spark lit up inside me. As George Bryant once told me, "If it’s not a 100% yes, it’s a no." This was a 100% YES - because it represents so much of what I believe in and the work I do.

Nature

In 2015, during my solo adventure around Australia, I began questioning the very nature of reality. After some surprising psychedelic experiences, I found myself deep in a search for truth.

  • Why is the world the way it is?

  • How do we know what is true or false, good or bad?

  • What governs the experiences we have in life?

This journey led me to the work of Mark Passio, who teaches about Natural Law - the eternal, unchangeable, unbreakable principles that govern not just the physical universe but also human consciousness and morality. Everything in life is governed by Nature’s Laws. We don’t control them - we are subject to them. The more we understand them, the more freedom we can experience. And maybe, just maybe, we can transcend suffering by aligning with them. Hypnotherapy, to me, is a tool for understanding and working with these natural forces, instead of fighting against them.

Eternal

Evergreen trees are special. Unlike most trees, they don’t shed their leaves in winter - they remain alive, vibrant, and strong throughout all seasons. Their needle-shaped leaves help them conserve water and survive extreme conditions. Their deep root systems keep them stable and grounded, even in harsh environments. Their slow metabolism allows them to thrive where others struggle. Evergreens are a symbol of endurance, resilience, and the timeless intelligence of nature. And isn’t that exactly what hypnotherapy helps us achieve?

  • To remain steady, even in life’s harshest seasons.

  • To grow, even in challenging places.

  • To transform, without losing who we are.

In hypnotherapy, we’re not looking for quick fixes or temporary solutions - we’re creating lasting change, just like an evergreen tree that stands strong for decades, even centuries.

My Favourite Colour!

Why is anyone’s favourite colour their favourite?
I don’t know. I couldn’t explain it if I tried. I just like it!
